Food Security

Model Farms

Food security is a basic human right. Access to at least an adequate amount of nutritious food could be seen as the most basic of all human rights. However, for hundreds of millions of people, this right is not being met, usually for reasons entirely out of their control.

Ahero Resource Center seeks to promote and implement cutting-edge farming techniques that maximize productivity and promote food security in the community while minimizing environmental impact. Through our model farming approach, we strive to empower local farmers with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to thrive in today's ever-changing world. From precision agriculture and smart irrigation systems to organic farming methods and agro-management, we are committed to transforming traditional farming into a dynamic, efficient, and environmentally conscious industry.

The model farm encompasses: -

  • Open food crop farm
  • Greenhouses/shade nets
  • A poultry farm
  • A domesticated animals unit
  • A fruit farm and a fish pond
  • Cassava processing and storage unit
  • A bakery where cassava products are produced
The Food Security program is providing practical examples of modern farming practices as well as a source of nutrition and income for the Orphan Feeding Program. The proceeds of the farm are used as a source of income that sustains the activities of the center.
