OVC Program
(Orphan and Vulnerable Children)

The incredibly high number of orphans in our community forced the Ahero CBO to strongly focus on them. Not many of them are fortunate to grow up in a family where they can find safety and protection. Once their parents pass away they can hardly sustain their schooling. The orphaned children live with their grandmothers or other caregivers. The caregivers are also very likely affected by the grinding poverty and struggle with the daily life. To support those caregivers and the OVC; the C.B.O. set up a Feeding Program that runs on a daily basis. The C.B.O. offers lunch for a select group of needy children during school lunch break.

For those who cannot come the long distance, we provide the caregivers with food that they can easily prepare at home.
